The Wood Family, October 2011:
We spent a delightful 10 days at Mamma Mia's at the beginning of October. The weather was excellent, like a hot British Summer day every day, just perfect. The villa is fab, you feel really special just walking in the big front door every evening and the balcony overlooking the sea is well sheltered from any breezes. Gennadi is a good place to stay, well stocked with a good general store, grocers, internet cafe, motorbike hire and bakery. There are a number of restaurants, two of which are great (Mammas and the one near the cash machine), however there is a restaurant called Angelika (I think) which is 2KM (not 800m as the brochure in the house says!) towards Lindos which is truly superb.
It's a lovely villa in a great location. If you prefer to spend lively evenings out and not have to drive back then an apartment in Lindos would be better suited, if you enjoy relaxing with your friends or family then this place is perfect. We were very glad that we kept our distance from the major tourist areas in the North, they were very busy and the further south you go gives a far more genuine Rhodian experience. Rhodes City is an hours drive from the house which is not a long way to go for a visit or two (which you must visit - amazing place).
Christine was also very helpful from the point of booking until after we returned home.
Book in confidence! If we were to return to Rhodes we would use Lindos And Beyond again. |
We have put the following review into the fewo-direkt homepage of Villa Mamma Mia, where we got the contact from. We wrote it in German, because it is a german Web-Page. Thank you again for the perfect holidays at Villa Mamma Mia and we hope to see you and the house again in one of our next holidays.
Best regards,
Claudia, Thomas and kids |
StaceyJP Harrogate, 1-8TH JUNE, 2011:
We have recently returned from our second stay at Mamma Mia’s and once again found the experience to be a sheer delight. If anything those little touches that have been added to the villa since our last stay, made the visit even more special. The villa itself is spacious and cool: a perfect retreat from the hot Gennadi sun. The garden, always peaceful and spacious, is now verdant with an amazing new lawn, some well established borders and the great, family-friendly pool at its heart. In the village, a short walk down the hillside, we found great food, especially at Mama’s Kitchen which serves some delicious local specialities.
The only thing I would rate more highly than this lovely peaceful villa is the service which we received from Christine the villa manager. She is friendly, efficient and unobtrusive and her exemplary service allowed us to enjoy a totally stress free holiday in this wonderful setting. Another great stay! |
Mark Bridges 13 – 20th August:
We recently returned after a week’s holiday in August and had a really great time. If you are looking for a relaxing stress free holiday away from it all then you will not find better. The villa is located away from the crowds but not totally isolated, and you have 180 degree view of the sea. Breakfast on the porch looking out to sea is what life should be about. We were lucky to have a full moon when we arrived and the view at night across the bay was fantastic.
The pool is ideal for families and there is plenty of room in the garden to enjoy that wonderful sun. There are two swinging hammocks located in the garden which are shaded from the sun all day long under the trees, so you can totally relax without the worry of getting burnt.
The villa is fitted out to a very high specification, spacious, clean and cool which you need at night with the high temperatures outside.
It’s just a short walk to the village (I must admit we often went in the car with the heat) and we would recommend Mama’s Kitchen for a place to eat, the food was really tasty, fresh and the service was really friendly.
Finally a big thank you to Christine the villa manager for her help in making this holiday one we will not forget in a hurry. |
Excellent
A perfect haven of peace and tranquility

My family and I have just returned from a week in this lovely villa on the outskirts of the little town of Gennadi (pronounced Yenaydi incidentally). The villa has plenty of outdoor space and some lovely shaded areas. An hour or two in the dappled shade of the hammock, being rocked by the breezes that blow down from the mountains is a great tonic to life's little stresses. And the pool was perfect for our young son who is just learning to swim, as it was not too deep. This also had the advantage that it warmed up quite quickly as the day wore on. Inside, the villa was spacious and airy and had everything we needed. The town is an easy walk down an unmade road, the trip back up the hill on foot, laden with fresh fruit, veg and delicious treats from the little bakery was a little more trying, but well worth the effort as the villa is both private and peaceful and a dip in the pool was the perfect antidote to the sweltering mid-day heat. In the village there are a handful of lovely tavernas serving some great traditional dishes. Our favourite was the Pitaroudia (chick-pea patties) at "Mama's Kitchen" who also served one of the most delicious moussaka's I've ever tasted. In short, we had one of our best holidays ever, and I'm sure the tans will fade long before the memories do |

MAMMA MIA 8-18TH JUNE:
"My wife and I spent 9 days at Mamma Mia and enjoyed it thoroughly. We hardly hit the beach as we spent our time relaxing on the patio, around the pool and the gardens, and enjoying barbequeing on the terrace whilst admiring the great views towards the sea. It was just 2 of us although there is anough space for 5-6 people easily ! The local bakery provided us with lovely pastries and their local spinach pies are to die for. One villa is under construction up the road that meant a bit of noise and site traffic, but it didn't spoil the experience and it should be over by September or so. Top marks" |

Excellent 5 STAR. Beautiful Holidays. We have lived in the villa two beautiful weeks in October. The house is very modern and tasteful furniture profiled. The appliances feature overcame all. There are also manuals available. The pool is half flat, ideal for children who can not yet swim. With satellite TV, it is also German, receive digital channels, ARD and ZDF.From the villa and from the terrace offers a spectacular, unobstructed views of the Mediterranean, you can even enjoy the bath. - At the villa is a gravel road. The villa is higher than the
Place. The outdoor areas are well manicured and the grass and the plants are watered automatically at night. |
